IDC Report :
A recent IDC report claims that “Salesforce and its ecosystem of customers and partners will create nearly 1.9 million jobs and add $389 billion in GDP impact worldwide over the next five years.” This is an exciting piece of news from the perspective of both business growth and becoming a significant contributor to the Salesforce ecosystem. At a time of recessionary economies and mass layoffs, the news about 1.9 million direct jobs and 2.8 million indirect jobs is heartwarming, to say the least.
AutoRABIT’s Journey with Salesforce
AutoRABIT helps Salesforce developers, Admins and Analysts with out-of-box automation of Version Control, Testing, Data loading and Sandbox management. The end goal is to deliver Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery on Salesforce deployments for our customers. In fact, we provide a unique “no de-ployment” approach where release managers can migrate both data & metadata across environments through the click of a button.
We are relatively young, but are familiar with the typical struggles that a developer undergoes with manual pre and post-migration, profiles, check-ins, merges and deployments. To that end, AutoRABIT 4.0 Release, encompasses five major new and exciting functionality enhancements to its product. These are – Merge Editor for GIT, Profile Manager, AutoRABIT usage reports, Pre- and Post-deployment step automation and Configuration Automation – designed to empower customers with one of the most advanced Salesforce Release Automation solutions in the industry.
AutoRABIT 4.0 allows users to simply select a pre-loaded template for a task to automate the selected task for every subsequent release. With this new release, users can configure automation for Conga Templates, Apptus and Orchestra CMS.
Our Customer Success Story
Nothing brightens our day at AutoRABIT more than a customer realizing the full power of our product. A customer approached us with a manual release process, where many user stories were accumulated in pre-prod/QA while waiting for management to decide on moving from a release to production. Apart from the release delay, the existing sandboxes weren’t latest, leading to queueing of more stories, causing more sync issues. In fact, a dedicated resource was required to manage the release process.
AutoRABIT created an EZ-Commits feature (commit to Version Control) with labels that could be reused and deployed across multiple sandboxes for all components relevant to a story. This enabled the customer to refresh sandboxes more frequently and check-in code into GIT branches without any loss of earlier development. The unreleased stories can be easily pulled from the GIT branches and deployed to the sandboxes to provide the right snapshot of the current development. AutoRABIT’s labeled commit and CI jobs reduced a lot of efforts of the customer in creating change sets and manual deployment, and helped them do away with a dedicated resource. Release Management became an integral part of the development team and the customer had to handle just pre/post-deployment steps to fulfill the release process.
The customer not only saved $100k per year, but also reduced their IT efforts by 300 hours per release AND was able to add more stories into its release cycle. We were so happy with this solution that we now offer EZ-commits as part of our standard 4.0 release.
Born in Cloud
The IDC report further claims that, by 2020, the cloud spend will grow six times the rate on IT spend. This isn’t surprising to us, in fact while traditional IT businesses adopt the cloud, most start-ups have simply bypassed the on-premise world altogether. Further, the brightest of developers and users are gravitating to cloud, implying a shift of innovation to cloud-based technologies. Just imagine: companies will focus on cloud-based products and their engineering superstars will live/eat/sleep cloud. So, if you are thinking of investing in that perfect on-premise product, understand that neither the companies nor their staff will be working that product soon.
Born in cloud, AutoRABIT is a pure SaaS product that leaves no IT footprint and solves two critical IT needs:
1. development efficiency through release automation
2. enhanced collaboration through reports, version control and test automation.
We look forward to making our customers’ lives easy – even happy.
